Renewal in Chimney Rock & Lake Lure at the Flowering Bridge. Spring 2025 in North Carolina

Spring reminds us that even after the harshest seasons, life finds a way to bloom again. In Lake Lure, NC stands the Flowering Bridge, known for its marvelous beauty. After Hurricane Helene, the local community came together with hundreds of donated bulbs and planted the seeds of hope, renewal, and belief in a brighter future.

Though a long road still remains for the recovery of Chimney Rock, seeing the eventual reopening of local businesses and Chimney Rock State Park on the horizon will be symbolic. Also, the businesses in the immediate area of Lake Lure are open and could use support now and into the spring and summer.

Being surrounded by the ancient mountains around Chimney Rock and Lake Lure felt like a warm embrace. Over the centuries, these towering peaks have absorbed the passage of time. Their rugged beauty is a testament to the area’s spirit of strength.
